Much of this vast country is dominated by the ancient Namib
Desert, estimated to be the oldest desert in the world.
Namibia: took its name from the desert, though it actually
offers much more: huge game reserve, scenic towns and interesting
geological formations
Namibia is a dry and inhospitable country, prompting the first
inhabitants - the San Bushmen - to call it "the Land God Made
in Anger". It does however, offer scenic and impressive landscapes,
unique desert-adapted fauna and flora as well as the highest sand
dunes in the world. A stable democracy, vast diamond deposits and
huge game reserves are other characteristics.
